May your week be filled God’s Presence

Psalm 103NLT

Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.  He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles! The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people ofIsrael. The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him he is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are;   he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!  The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will!  Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in his entire kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD.

I chose the movieRent

Leviticus18:22Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin. (Today’s’ New International Version)

Romans-1:27-28 also states: In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.- (Today’s New International Version)

This movie promotes Strong Homosexuality, discord, confusion, cheating, seduction, drugs, and alcohol.

The positive aspect of this movie promotes love and friendship God wants us to Love and he calls us friends. However when we do not heed to his effectual or general call then we have chose to continue to walk in sin.  Romans6:15states what then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. (King James Version)

My personal statement of this is if God wants us to come from among sinful nature and be separated from this then this movie is not giving edification to a person’s spirit. It promotes perversion

Christian Education

Obtaining a Christian Education is both educational and spiritually beneficial. it inspires enlightens and educate all  at the same time. It moves us out of the path of generational ignorance of false teaching or Christianity Practice.   Hosea 4:6 states; GOD’S WORD® Translation: I will destroy my people because they are ignorant. You have refused to learn, so I will refuse to let you be my priests. You have forgotten the teachings of your God, so I will forget your children.  This tells me that generational ignorance will be  passed down because our forefathers refuse to learn of Gods  word. Christian Education is not looked at as just an Education but a transformation of mind-body and spirit. It  eliminates generational curses of ignorance.  This form of education challenge us to do better, by changing the way we think and conduct ourselves. It challenges us to challenge our own thought process and de-programs assumption thoughts into rational thinking.  Romans 12:2 King James Bible: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God  I personally consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of such an amazing school that educates the entire being  We do this by obtaining an Education not just for secular purposes but for spiritual purposes as well.

“Blog”

Christian Theology and Faith and Learning Class has called me to the front line of accountability and has made me more aware of my conduct as a Christian .  Both classes where extremely informal thus far. Since I have began reading, participating in the Discusssion board, The Prayer Room and doing instructed assignments has  placed a balance in my beliefs. The Faith and learning course has challenged me to think for myself. It has  guided me to apply intellect and critical thinking  to my ideas. On page 73 in Habits of the mind, there was a statement that enlightened me “justification by grace through faith” Ellan Charry of Princeton Seminary. This statement spoke so much volume to me. In other words: I am Free from the guilt of  sin and shame because God grace and mercy( divine love and protection)  through faith ( when  I believe). In Chapter II Newman adresses Holiness and the process to live a holy life.  In the book of  Life of the Mind , Nathan Hatch introduces the book  with the statement of ” Our danger has not been too much thinking, but not enough” In the book of the “Idea of  a Christian College’ Explain’s the benifits of a Christian Education and A secular Education. The more I read the more I desire to comply.  If both Classes are just an Introductory Course, I am extremely looking forward to moving forward in the following courses.

Self vs the other!

My opinion of having Christian lifestyles can be tough at times. Being a Christian has moral ethics and intellectual standards that we must meet daily. We are faced with much turmoil concerning different beliefs and views of the bible and religion, with this being said it causes conflict and confusion to a Christian that struggle with their faith

Ephesians:4-6 strictly states that There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all and also

Vs 14-16 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Vs17-24  So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.  Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.  That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness

This passage of scripture is very precise to me because it strictly states that there is 1 God above all, and once we learn of him we are free from false teaching. This scripture also target the way we think and challenges us to put on a new mind, with this a new mind changes our attitude and posture as a Christian.

Being a Christian cause me to have a different approach on daily challenges, thoughts and temptation that I face today. Issues and people that I didn’t care about then I care about now. If God is Love and he loved me when I didn’t believe and my life was full of sin then I feel that I should offer the same love to an unbeliever.

Passion of Christ

I watched The Passion of Christ and this movie was extremely moving. The suffering that Jesus endured made me feel as though my past and current trials where just a broken fingernail. This deeply inspired me because I was in a life full of sin. Yet I knew of John3:16this movie brought life to John3:16in my life and I understood that what I had done in the past was already paid at the cross. This movie helped me to really believe that Jesus went through the very same thing that we face today yet in a different time.  I felt completely connected to the movie and especially connected to the women in the movie Mary and Martha.  I really lost myself during the process of Jesus bearing the cross, The hurt and mental torment that Mary felt when she got close enough to help and touch Jesus when he had fallen my heart ached and shattered because he looked to his mother and said: “See I Make All Things New” through the persecution and suffering he had to bare and to continue through the horrible process for him to die a horrible death I took this very personal. I had a quick flash back of my past and my present short coming. Jesus gave his life so that I may be live and be free from sin. They didn’t take his life; he gave his life for me for, his enemies and those who don’t even know him. If such punishment happened today it would be considered murder. We are unclean and have fallen short so many times.  In the standard version Bible this clearly states; Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.
